Bule Hora is one of the zone in the Oromia Region of Ethiopia. It was part of former Hagere Mariam
woreda what was separated for Bule Hora, Dugda Dawa and Kercha woredas. Part of the Borena Zone, Hagere Mariam was bordered on the south by the Dawa River which separates it from Arero, on the southwest by Yabelo, on the west by the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples Region and Gelana Abaya, on the northeast by Uraga, and on the east by Odo Shakiso.
The Area is a food self-sufficient agricultural zone and a major coffee producing area. The eastern parts are covered with forest. The main crops grown & consumed are enset & maize. Coffee labor (weeding & harvesting) is important for the very poor. Additional income comes from sale of shoats for most wealth groups & from chicken/eggs for the very poor. Laborers migrate to this area from elsewhere. Market access is relatively good.

Bule Hora , a town in southern Ethiopia, is 467 kilometers from Addis Ababa. Its climate is somewhat tropical and different from the typical highland climate of northeastern Shoa. There are daily plenty of road transportation between Addis Ababa and Bule Hora.
